Art Gourds

I grow my own hardshell gourds on our farm (The Farm Between). Growing hardshell gourds in northern Vermont requires that you start them indoors in the middle of March. That way when the warm weather hits in the end of May and early June, they are ready to really start growing. Even so, getting a lot of fully mature gourds that will therefore dry properly by the end of the season is a challenge. I love the ‘farm to art’ idea and enjoy making musical instruments and a variety of art gourds with my harvest.
